Work through tasks
Use Tasks to track the work needed for this pursuit: evidence to collect, sections to write, forms to complete and decisions to resolve.
- Open the intended pursuit and select Tasks in navigation to work centrally. You can also add Tasks to the side panel beside Response.
- Expand a task to find its work actions and full instructions, options, conditions, completion criteria and source links. Instructions and RFP requirements opens on first entry; collapse it after reading if you need more room. Open the linked originals to check what the RFP requires. If you opened a task outside its pursuit, choose Open task in pursuit to jump to it.
- Use Discuss task for an editable, unsent side-chat draft beside your current work. Add your request and send it. Repeating the action resumes the same open task/revision draft without replacing your text. An agreed owner label does not grant pursuit access.
- Use Add evidence to upload a file or choose a Library item. Explain what it supplies, then choose Save evidence to Plan. A successful upload alone does not associate the evidence with the task: wait for confirmation that it is saved in the shared task. Open the file link to inspect it in the viewer, then review the instructions.
- Use Record decision beside Response. Decision shows the exact saved choice or a new decision field; Support & checks holds the basis, unresolved checks and supporting files. Task & sources retains the full instructions, completion criteria, citations and prior notes. These are reading views of the same task, not inferred RFP options. For a new note, enter the decision, continue to support, then choose Review decision. Check all fields before Save decision to task. Wait for Saved. The attributed note stays in the shared task; company verification, authority, Response approval and task completion remain separate.
- From the saved decision, choose Open Response drafting chat. This prepares an editable request in a new private chat and preserves other unsent chat drafts. Review the request, then send it to ask for wording; opening the chat alone does not start drafting.
- Review any proposed Response change against each open check and its supporting sources. Correct omissions, unresolved claims or unsupported commitments before choosing Apply explicitly. A proposal is not saved Response writing until it is applied. Return to Response to check the resulting writing and sources.
If a task includes Response passages, open that section to read the current linked text. Choose Open in Response to jump to the passage. To link a passage, choose Link Response passage when it is available; it is disabled if you cannot edit the task or the task is stale. If a passage changed or cannot be found, choose Edit links when available and link it again from the current Response.
- Choose Mark handoff complete, after the instructions, only when you have checked the saved output against the task's completion criteria. Confirm completion explicitly. Choose Reopen task if more work is needed; the saved evidence and decision notes remain.
Unsent discussion, evidence and decision drafts stay with your open tabs across pane changes and hiding. Evidence and decision drafts remain separate for each task when switching between them. Closing the tab or reloading ends unsaved draft state. To resume a saved discussion after reload, select it under Chats. Saved evidence and decision notes are shared in Plan; private chat is not the shared deliverable. If saving cannot be confirmed, keep the draft and use the offered recovery action to check the saved task before adding anything again. An agent run finishing does not mean every human task is complete. A task list does not prove every RFP requirement has been covered. Keep qualification questions and missing evidence in Plan, and request additional Tasks only for work not already covered.
If you see no tasks, confirm the workspace and pursuit, then check whether tasks have been created and saved. Workspace membership alone does not grant access to every pursuit. See team access.
If Tasks says some pursuit tasks could not be loaded, the list is incomplete; refresh to try again. If a task is no longer available, refresh the task list. If edit access is unavailable, tasks are visible; refresh before editing.
Manifest Tasks are shared pursuit work; connecting Linear does not automatically copy or synchronize them.
